Sungai = Menam ?
[แก้]I think in the Southern Thailand a number of rivers are called "Su-ngai" instead of "Menam" am I right ? Shall that be mentioned somewhere in the article ?

Although "Su-ngai" (สุไหง) means "a river, a canal" in Yawi (ภาษายาวี) [1] but it is not an official name. This word only appears in some district or subdistrict name, especially "Su-ngai Kolok" (สุไหงโก-ลก) and "Su-ngai Padi" (สุไหงปาดี).
PS. "แม่น้ำ" is pronounced "Maenam" -- "ae" sounds like "a" in "can" -- not "Menam" --Octahedron80 04:47, 13 กรกฎาคม 2007 (UTC)
